Don't miss the Anti-Valentine’s Day party on Friday, February 12th from 2pm-4pm in the library's youth activity room. If Valentine's Day is not your thing, this is the perfect opportunity for you to creatively mock the day! There will be several activities, including making black roses from duct tape, poking fun at romance novel covers—we will provide color copies for you to add illustrations and comments, plus contests for the worst valentine and break-up letter. We will also divide into teams and race to see who can unwrap the most Hershey Kisses while wearing gloves. Plenty of cupcakes, chocolates and other sweets will be available too — after all, treats are the only redeeming feature of Valentine’s Day!You don’t need to be single to join this party—everyone is encouraged to bring friends, including significant others, and enjoy mocking the commercial stereotypes of romance.
